If you have a US importer for your winery they can do these steps for you.

• You must register with the US FDA to allow your wines to enter the US. If you already have a USFDA registration number for your winery, you do not need to do this step. If you do NOT have a USFDA registration number for your winery then do these next steps:
  • Click this link: http://www.fda.gov/Food/GuidanceComplianceRegulatoryInformation/RegistrationofFoodFacilities/default.htm
  • On the web page - click on "Login / Create Account"
  • On the next page, left side, under New User click on "Create New Account"
  • On the next page, select Food and Drug Facility Registration, then select Food Facility Registration and click CONTINUEM
  • On the next page, complete all of the fields on the form. Be sure to write down your login-password and save it! Then click CONTINUE
  • On the next page click SUBMIT
  • You will then receive an email from fis@fda.gov titled USER ACCOUNT INFORMATION – this email contains your User Account ID. Be sure to write down your User Account ID and save it!
• Once you have created an account and received your ID, you must register your facility
  • Click this link: http://www.fda.gov/Food/GuidanceComplianceRegulatoryInformation/RegistrationofFoodFacilities/default.htm
  • On the web page – click on "Login / Create Account"
  • On the next page, left side, login using your Used Account ID and Password
  • On the next page, under FDA UNIFIED REGISTRATION LISTING SYSTEMS, click on Food Facility Registration
  • On the next page, left side, click on Register a Food Facility
  • This is a 12 step process – you must complete all sections
  • Here are some tips for completing the sections:
    • In Section 1, select FOREIGN REGISTRATION from the dropdown menu
    • In Section 7 United States Agent, fill in this information:

  • Once you have completed all 12 sections you will immediately be given a FURLS number. Be sure to write down your FURLS number and save it!
• Second, you must complete a Prior Notice of Imported Food
  • Click this link: http://www.fda.gov/Food/GuidanceComplianceRegulatoryInformation/RegistrationofFoodFacilities/default.htm
  • On the web page - click on "Login / Create Account"
  • On the next page, left side, login using your Used Account ID and Password
  • On the next page, under OTHER FDA SYSTEMS, click on Prior Notice of Imported Food
  • On the next page, click on CREATE NEW WEB ENTRY
  • On the next page, select Consumption from the dropdown list and click NEXT
  • Complete all information on the next page. For Importer, enter the following information:

  • Click SAVE
• You have now completed your US FDA registration.
